Shiseido launched an all-new White Lucent skincare at the turn of the year, and I’ve been diligently testing them for over 2 months now. The new White Lucent collection is inspired by aesthetics procedures such as laser therapy and IPL, and uses the most advanced intelligent skincare technologies, to reduce and prevent dark spots. It is a completely revolutionary approach towards brightening skincare, and I’m very excited to show them to you today!
Shiseido White Lucent skincare features a new SAKURAResist Technology derived from the delicate and pristine white Japanese cherry blossoms. This SAKURAResist Technology strengthens the skin’s resistance to external aggressors, suppressing their natural response to produce melanin. In this way, skin is protected from future dark spots.
Furthermore, Shiseido has incorporated various specialised melanin-inhibiting technologies used in professional cosmetic procedures into each of the 4 products in the White Lucent range. Each inspired by a different procedure, and works synergistically to provide a comprehensive and effective way to eliminate existing dark spots.
Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Infuser may be used day and night, and is the first step after cleansing. It is so much more than just a regular softener or toner, but serves as a skin-whitening IV drip to deliver ingredients deeply and quickly deep into the skin. One pump serves up a generous dose that deeply saturates my skin. It has a “bouncy” fluid texture that behaves almost like a gel (but it is really a fluid), and goes to work softening up the upper epidermis, thereby allowing ensuing products to be quickly penetrated. I really enjoy using this Luminizing Infuser as I feel it quenches my dehydrated skin very well, and my skin feels softer and plumper afterwards!
Shiseido White Lucent MicroTargeting Spot Corrector is one of the hero products in the new range, and may be used day and night as a serum preceding your moisturizer. It is inspired by laser therapy, and works to pinpoint stubborn dark spots and lightens them. This works even on the tiniest, and most diffused spots that may otherwise be difficult to eradicate with laser. This serum contains oil of very low molecular weight, and is very quickly absorbed into the skin, penetrating deep into the dermal layers to zap the spots before they even surface. It encourages skin renewal at those spots, sloughing off dead skin cells containing the spots, and exposing fresh, unblemished skin.
The next 2 items in the new Shiseido White Lucent range are only meant to be used at night. Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Surge is a treatment veil for the skin, and is inspired by the need for protection after a laser treatment. One pump dispenses a generous amount of the Luminizing Surge, which is a rich milky fluid, that envelops the skin and boosts its barrier function. It also creates an ion veil over the surface of the skin to protect it from external aggressors that may otherwise stimulate melanin production. Instead, Luminizing Surge feels very soothing and pampering, helping skin recover from the onslaught of treatments the skin has been undergoing, and protects it from external stimuli.
The second of the hero products from this rate, Shiseido White Lucent MultiBright Night Cream is inspired by IPL treatments. This light gel-cream works to encourage skin’s natural recharging process that happens only at night, reducing redness, dullness, dryness, etc. I am always partial to gel creams, and this one is particularly enjoyable to use as it also contains the fresh scent of Rosenium and White Lilac, the combination of which is utterly relaxing, and also has whitening properties.
I was a little baffled when I first received the products as my natural reaction was to use all 4 items together right away. However, further inspection revealed that I had to use the Luminizing Infuser and MicroTargeting Spot Corrector with some other moisturizer in the day, and could only follow up with the Luminizing Surge and MultiBright Night Cream at night. The products used together are incredibly powerful, and so active that my sensitive skin had initially reacted with tiny bumps. In the end, I stopped using the entire range for about a week, and then slowly started introducing 1 item at a time back into my routine, using each product for 3-4 days before adding the next item. Gradually, I was able to get my skin to accept Shiseido White Lucent, and the results were amazing. I now have the clearest and fairest skin that I’ve ever seen, and old blemishes have faded considerably!! If you are looking to just add 1 item from the range to your own skincare routine, I would recommend the MicroTargeting Spot Corrector. But if you are serious about eradicating stubborn spots and living free and clear of spots, I suggest trying out the entire line for yourself! Do take care to integrate each product slowly into your routine if you have highly reactive skin like mine!
