This week, my world is buzzing with hype about the new Crazy Rich Asians movie. And whilst the movie completely overplayed the wealth of the rich and famous in Singapore, the type it portrays certainly exists in Asia. In case you still have not noticed, the world’s wealth is now centered in Asia, which explains all the luxe new beauty launches targeted with Asians in mind. Now, most of us (me specifically) will not be able to jet around the world on a whim attending fashionable events on a private jet, but nothing will stop us when it comes to pampering and preserving the youth of our skin! With that in mind, I’d like to introduce you to the new La Prairie White Caviar Creme Extraordinaire!
Straight out of the box, La Prairie White Caviar Creme Extraordinaire is set to impress with its stylish design. A flick of the wrist snaps the cap back to reveal an entirely sealed jar, keeping the contents fresh for longer. With a press of the sleek inverted button, an innovative airless pump is activated, releasing the perfect dose of pristine white cream – the precise amount required to cover the entire face. Of course if you need just a tiny bit more or less, the button allows you to self-calibrate with half-presses.
The White Caviar Creme Extraordinaire is La Prairie’s most recent moisturising cream that offers to bring skin even greater luminosity and evenness. La Prairie scientists identified Lumidose out of 50,000 ingredients as the single most effective in supporting the inhibition of melanin, the pigment that causes dark spots. Melanin production is controlled primarily by Tyrosinase. Lumidose is a proprietary patented molecule that has the lowest IC50-value — the concentration required for 50 per cent inhibition of tyrosinase activity — making it the most powerful inhibitor for human tyrosinase to date. Lumidose is paired with La Prairie’s Smart Crystal White, an efficient delivery system that works to interrupt the signalling pathways of melanin production, leading to a more even and clearer complexion.
In addition, all products under La Prairie’s White Caviar Collection are formulated with the rare Golden Caviar extract which provides exceptional firming benefits. It is further enriched with La Prairie’s Exclusive Cellular Complex, which gives new life and energy back to skin cells, leaving skin looking firmer and younger. Even with all the wonderful benefits, La Prairie White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire feels luxurious to the touch but quickly absorbed without leaving any trace of stickiness nor oiliness on the skin. Used as the last step of my routine, it helps to seal in all the other products that I had applied previously, and leaves my skin feeling happy and plump. I was using this diligently for weeks when I first received it, in conjunction with the Platinum Rare Cellular Night Elixir [reviewed here] and my skin was in the absolute best condition that it has ever been. But then I stopped using this to try out a few other new moisturisers [reviewed here]. Though my skin did not react right away, it grew more sensitive and irritated, and started breaking out from a recent bout of intense travels. Nothing else soothed my skin, everything just seemed to aggravate, until I returned to my La Prairie routine.
